Olyvia Mamae of East Anchorage put on a show at the Alaska state track and field championships, proving she is the fastest girl in the state by winning the 100 meters (12.32), 200 (25.37) and 100 hurdles (15.21) at Dimond High School in Anchorage

The Chugiak girls claimed the Division I team title with 142 points, edging out South Anchorage (133 points). Chugiak was paced by junior Campbell Peterson who won the 1,600 (5:10.47) and 3,200 (11:19.29). Teammate Addision Capozzi claimed the 800 (2:19.85).

In boys Division I action, Wasilla won with 164 points with three individual wins.

In the distance events, West Valley senior Daniel Abramowicz, who will run for the University of San Francisco this fall, won the 800 (1:57.09), 1,600 (4:24.01) and 3,200 (9:12.68).

Chugiak senior Josh Bailey won the 100 dash, barely edging out Juneau-Douglas’ James Connally, 11.22-11.23.

Carissa Houck made sure her last state meet was a memorable one. The Anchorage Christian senior did all she could, winning four events to lead her team to a Division II championship. Houck won the 100 (12.86), 200 (26.49), 100 hurdles (16.56) and 300 hurdles (49.01) to score 40 of her team’s 113 points. Sitka, the 2021 winner, was second in the team standings with 75 points.
